Plans for New Solar Power Plants
August 15, 2008 by Steph
More good news for solar power was reported in the business section of The New York Times today (the required registration is free). California is planning to build two large solar plants. The combined output of these plants will total more than twelve times the electricity production of the world’s largest solar power plant and more than fifty-seven times the electricity of the largest solar installation currently in the U.S.
California has a state mandate to obtain at least 20 percent of its electricity from renewable sources by 2010 so utility companies are searching for ways to meet this requirement.
It is exciting to read all the developments happening in alternative energy!
