A Ray of Hope Regarding our Energy Future

With all the fear and panic in the news of late, reading about an interesting proposal for alternative energy development in America was a breath of fresh air.
According to the above-linked article in Newsweek, Representative Bart Gordon (D-TN) sees a huge opportunity for America in the current energy crisis. The current chairperson of the U.S. House Committee on Science and Technology, Rep. Gordon has proposed creating an advanced research agency within the U.S. Department of Energy to explore and invest in new technologies. He argues that while the private sector can make helpful changes, it cannot create the sweeping transformations that our world now needs quickly.
